OBITUARIES:  (published Feb. 14, 2019)

Theodore Joseph Cachey
  
Theodore Joseph Cachey, 85, died Feb. 7, 2019, at his Hinsdale home.
   He was born in 1933 in Chicago and was a proud graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, the University of Michigan and Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. He was the founder of T.J. Cachey Builders and an active attorney for more than 50 years. He also served as a valued member of the Marquette Bank Board of Directors for 50 years.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Noel King; and his brother, Felix (Doris).
   He is survived by his children, Theodore J. Jr. (Anna Maria), Carol, Thomas (Tana), Mary Jo (Michael) Kwasigroch, James and Colette (Thomas) Smithburg; his grandchildren, James and Eleanor Cachey, Tripp, Anne, Emily and Charles Stelnicki, Peter, Rachel (Eric) Schulz, Daniel and Angeline Cachey, Michael, Teddy, Donny, John and Joseph Kwasigroch and Will and Teddy Smithburg; his great-grandchildren, Jonny, Layne and Valerie; his siblings, Mary (the late Edward) Roche and Joseph (Rita); and many nieces and nephews.
   A memorial Mass was said Feb. 12 at St. John of the Cross in Western Springs.
   Interment was private.

   Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.

Joan Grandy
  
Joan Grandy, 84, of Downers Grove, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away Jan. 21, 2019.
   Joan graduated from Fairview Park High School in Fairview Park, Ohio, in 1952. In 1957 Joan married Bob, her high school sweetheart, and in the early 1960s the couple moved from the Cleveland area to Hinsdale.
   Joan was very active in her son’s schools, serving in the PTO and Cub Scouts and supporting their rec and high school sports teams. Joan also was passionate about the welfare of animals, serving for almost 20 years as a board member and volunteer for the Hinsdale Humane Society. Joan moved to Downers Grove in 1985. She worked with a number of local businesses, and, semi-retired, worked at St. Mary’s Church where she was universally appreciated and cared for. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Bob Grandy.
   Joan is survived by her sons, Todd (Stacey) and Christian (Kelly); her grandchildren, Libby, Stratton, Owen, and Connor; and her siblings, Ken Herman, Sandy Sweitzer and Sharon Terry.
   Services will be private.

Elizabeth Joan Pope
  
Elizabeth Joan Pope, nee Sullivan, 87, of Oak Brook died Feb. 10, 2019.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Pope; and her brother, William “Bill.”
   She is survived by her children, Angelo (Michelle) Pope, Cynthia Pope-Romano, Cathleen Pope, Michael Pope and Elizabeth (Edward Tiesenga) Pope-Tiesenga; her grandchildren, Heather (Jim) Busam, Anthony Pope, Michael James Pope, Daniel Romano Jr., Donald Romano, Amalia Romano, Elizabeth Romano, Alexander Romano, Alissa Pope, Michael Pope and Stephanie Pope; her great-grandchildren, Kali Pope, Isabella Pope, Nico Pope, Marcus Busam and Ethan Busam; her siblings, Dorothy, Michael “Jack” and Mary; and many nieces and nephews.
   Visitation is from 3 to 8 today, Feb. 14, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant St., Hinsdale.
   A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, 1530 Jackson Ave., River Forest.
   Entombment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Carol Ann Sawyer
  
Carol Ann Sawyer, 54, of Hinsdale, passed away Feb. 4, 2019, surrounded by family and close friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Georgia Tangeman.
   She is survived by her husband, David Sawyer; and her siblings, Bruce (Betty) Tangeman, Brian (Linda Moats) Tangeman and Kathleen Tangeman.
   A funeral service took place Feb. 9 at Living Word Church in Lansing.
   Interment will be private.
   Memorials may be made to Living Word Church, 2248 186th St., Lansing, IL, 60438.
   Sullivan Family Funeral Homes in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.

Maria Veronica
  
Maria Veronica, nee Partipilo, 94, of Hinsdale passed away Feb. 8, 2019, in Burr Ridge.
   She was born in 1924 in Italy.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Veronica.
   She is survived by her children, Donald (Carol) Veronica, Laura (Rick) Reiner and Lawrence Veronica; her grandchildren, Christian Veronica, Melissa (Nick) Donofrio, Adam Veronica, Angela (Lucas) McConnell, Christina¬† Washburn and Richard Reiner; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alaina, Jordan, Nicholas, Mason, Samuel, Michael, Jackson and Maria; and her nieces and nephews, Franco, Tina, Angela and Betti.
   Visitation begins at 9 today, Feb. 14, until time of prayer at 9:30 a.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant St. Hinsdale.
   A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St. Hinsdale.
   Interment will be private at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
