OBITUARIES:  (published Feb. 22, 2018)

Joan Gunning Hansen
Joan Gunning Hansen, 93, died Feb. 17, 2018.
   She was born in 1925 to Gerald I. and Ann Gertrude Wall Gunning.
   She is survived by her sister, Patricia Gunning Muller; her husband, Charles C. Hansen III; her children, Bruce (Sharon) Hansen, Brian Hansen, Holly (Richard) Hetke, Christiane (Dale) Shepherd, and Pamela (John) Pierce; her grandchildren, Bliss (Trip) Finnegan, Harmony (Connor) Ryan, Tara Hansen, Broughton Hansen, Greer (Lawrence) Martin, Charles and Alison Hetke, Devin, Madeleine and Owen Shepherd, and Samantha and Jack Pierce; her great-grandchildren, A.J., Mairin and Shayla; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
   A memorial visitation will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in the Fireplace Room at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale.
   A Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church.
   Interment will be private.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online to St. Isaac Jogues at
   Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.

Lorraine Moriarty
Lorraine Moriarty passed away peacefully at her Burr Ridge home Feb. 21, 2018, surrounded by her daughters.
   Lorraine excelled in school and graduated as valedictorian from Chicago Teachers College with a degree in education and English. Lorraine taught middle school for two years before marrying the love of her life, John “Jack” Patrick Moriarty. Lorraine and Jack started dating at 16 and loved spending time with their five daughters, Jan, Julie (Tom) McCarty, Dianne, Erin (Roger) Conant and Kerry (Richard) Robbins.
   Lorraine and Jack loved golfing and socializing at Olympia Fields Country Club and traveled to over 20 countries together, many with the Road Builders Association. An avid philanthropist, Lorraine was president of the Women’s Board of LaRabida Children’s Hospital and served on the Women’s Board of the Lyric Opera and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Board. She also was a board director at The Lupus Society of Illinois (a disease which she had for 30 years) and an active donor and volunteer at the Art Institute of Chicago, Misericordia Home of Chicago and Infant Welfare Society. Lorraine was a member of the Garden Club of Hinsdale and a member of St. Isaac Jogues Church in Hinsdale.
   Lorraine is now reunited with her late husband and dance partner of 54 years, Jack.
   Lorraine is survived by her five daughters; her granddaughters, Shannon McCarty and Megan (Randy) Johnson; her grandsons, Kevin (Megan) Kreutz, Brian Kreutz and J.P. Kreutz; her great-grandchildren, Dylan Johnson, Austin Kreutz, and Camden Kreutz; and her siblings, Corrine (Ed) Stocks and brother Ed (Ann) Olson.
   Visitation is at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in the Fireplace Room at St. Isaac Jogues Parish, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale.
   A Catholic Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the church.
   Please toast Lorraine’s happy life with a glass of Champagne, a good book and some chocolate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online to the Lupus Society of Illinois at
   Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.
