OBITUARIES:  (published March 1, 2018)

Edwin Whitney Kaler
  
Edwin Whitney Kaler, 75, of Hinsdale, passed away Jan. 10, 2018 at Amita Health Adventist Medical Center in Hinsdale.
   He was born in 1942 in Meadville, Penn. 
   Ed enjoyed several careers during his life working as an emergency medical technician, numerous roles in sales, and finally as a parts distributor for classic British sports cars.
Ed’s family moved around the country while he was growing up, living at various times in suburban New York, Mobile, Ala., and Merritt Island, Fla., before finally settling in Bethesda, Md. His parents held season tickets to the Washington Redskins and Ed became a lifelong fan.    He was also an enthusiastic follower of NASCAR, but his real passion was classic British sports cars. He proudly drove his vintage Austin Healey in several of Hinsdale’s Fourth of July parades and enjoyed participating in car shows around the country. 
   Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Norma; and his sister, Patricia.
   He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kaler, nee Sepich.
   A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
   Memorials may be made to the Hinsdale Humane Society, 22 N. Elm, Hinsdale, IL 60521.

Edward H. Main
  
Edward H. Main, 73, of Oak Brook died Feb. 27, 2018, in Chicago.
   He was born in 1944 in Chicago.
   Ed was an avid golfer and enjoyed his retirement, working part-time at the Oak Brook Golf Club, after 15 years as a manager for Standard Parking and 30 years in the bowling industry.
Ed believed in giving back to the community in numerous ways. He served two terms as a Wheeling Township Trustee, five years on the Wheeling Board of Fire and Police Commissioners and later five years as a member of the Niles Planning Commission. Since 2013 Ed was chairman of the Oak Brook Fire and Police Commission. In addition, he was a member and president of the Oak Brook Club Homeowners’ Association.
   He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jacqueline Main, nee Bolek; his son, Edward “Eddie” (Kristen) Main; his granddaughters, Samantha and Alyssa Main; his brothers, Robert (the late Diane) Main and Jerry (Janet) Main; his godson, Robert Main III; and many nieces and nephews.
   Visitation is at 3 today, March 1, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant St., Hinsdale. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
   Interment is private at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made online to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.

Antoine Pagano
  
Antoine “Tony” Pagano, 96, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away Feb. 22, 2018, his 71st wedding anniversary, at King-Bruwaert in Burr Ridge.
   He was born in 1921 in Italy.
   He is survived by his wife, Agnes Pagano, nee Turcato; his children, Monique (Jay) Walters and Jean (Rhiannon) Pagano; his grandchildren, Danielle (Robert Blunt) Walters, Aaron (Lisa) Walters, Anique Walters and Victor (Michele Kelmer) Kaposonore; his great-grandchildren, Simonne, Nathan and Julian Blunt, Aiden Walters, Chloe and Isaac Kaposonore; and his brother, Santine Pagano.
   Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant St., Hinsdale, with a special memorial at 6:30 p.m.
Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 3, to proceed to St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale for an 11:30 a.m. Mass
   Interment will be private at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wellness House, 131 N. County Line Road, Hinsdale, IL 60521 or online at wellnesshouse.org.
