OBITUARIES:  (published June 14, 2018)

Donold Walter Carll

Donald “Don” Walter Carll of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Hinsdale, died unexpectedly June 5, 2018, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Don, 84, was a colonel in the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed every minute of his career as a commercial airline pilot that spanned three decades. He spent his retirement flying his own private plane and traveling about the country with Connie, his wife of 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Carll, nee Wieber; his children, Deborah L. (William) Hastings, David M. (Elsa) Carll, Diana M. (Charles) Clohecy and Donna M. (Raymond) Ricciardi; his grandchildren, Ryan Kos, Katelyn Kos, Robert Kos, Charles Clohecy IV, Timothy Clohecy, Gillian Clohecy, Michael Clohecy and Raymond Ricciardi III.
A funeral Mass was said June 11 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Darien.
Interment was at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien.
Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.

Titica X. Manolukas

Titica X. Manolukas of Hinsdale passed away on June 4, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Titica was born in 1931 in Athens, Greece.
She started life as a World War II survivor, married Paul Manolukas, who never stopped being interesting and with whom she never fell out of love, and worked as a teacher for many years in Pennsylvania. She raised two kids, lost one of them, Alexander, and became a widow too young. She lived with her daughter’s family for the past 25 years as a second mom to three grandchildren, Christina, Alex and Paulina, and best friend to her daughter Lia Anna Andre, and a source of love, wisdom, and encouragement to many others.
She was generous, loving, adventurous, down-to-earth and smart. She weathered many challenges with her spirit intact and always had her priorities straight, putting family first. She lived a full and happy life. She was the kind of person who is never really gone, because so many people loved her.
A private family service was held June 9 at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale.
