OBITUARIES:  (published June 21, 2018)

Henry Glos Bates
  
Henry Glos Bates, 95, formerly of Hinsdale, died May 31, 2018, in Key Largo, Fla.
He was born in 1922 in Elmhurst and was a graduate of Cornell University and Kent School of Law. He served in the Army in World War II and had a 50-year career as an attorney with Bates and Bates.
   Henry and his wife, Zan, made their home in Hinsdale for 50 years while also spending time in Key Largo and Lake Geneva, Wis.
   Henry served as a board member of Villa Park Bank and the Bank of Wheaton and as chairman of York State Bank. He was a board member of Hinsdale Golf Club and Card Sound Golf Club and the founder and commodore of Card Sound Sailing Club and president of the Lake Geneva Country Club. He also was a member of Ocean Reef Club and the Anglers Club in Key Largo.
   He was a proud member and supporter of The Community House, Graue Mill, Wellness House, the YMCA, United Way, Ray Graham Association and the Chapel at Ocean Reef Club.
   Henry will be remembered for his love of travel, his many friends and his deep love for his family.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Rozanne “Zan” Hamilton.
   He is survived by his daughters, Chris (Larry) Crum, Becky (Bill) Dickinson, Patsy (Greg) Pace and Margaret Bates; his grandchildren, Anne (Alex) Ross, Henry (Sarah) Crum, Robert (Lauren) Dickinson, Ben Dickinson, Brad (Theresa) Dickinson, Gregory (Jenny) Pace Jr., John Henry (Tara) Bates Pace, Lola Bates Campbell and Lucy Bates Campbell; and his great-grandchildren, Ted and Piper Ross, Jack, Georgia and Camilla Dickinson and Addison and Gregory Pace.
   Services were private.
   Memorials may be made to The Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., Hinsdale, IL 60521; or to a charity of choice.

Lorraine Ann Beles
  
Lorraine Ann Beles, nee Santrucek, 77, a resident of Hinsdale and LaPorte, Ind., passed away peacefully June 15, 2018, in LaPorte.
   She was born in 1940 in St. Joseph, Mich.
   Lorraine was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed gardening and birds and loved spending time at the lake with her family.
   She is survived by her husband, Norman J. Beles; her children, Joe (Jenni) Beles, Bryan (Colleen) Beles, Teresa (B.J.) Greer, Steven (Katie) Beles and Kathy (David) Vogt; her 12 grandchildren; her one great-grandchild; her sister, Carol (John) Wolf; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
   A funeral took place June 20 at Christ Church of Oak Brook.
   Interment was at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook.

   Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.

Frank J. Berger
  
Frank J. Berger, 82, a former longtime Hinsdale resident, died June 17, 2018, at his Burr Ridge home with his family by his side.
   He was born in 1935 in Chicago and worked as a packaging products salesman before retiring.
   Frank was involved in the community and instrumental in starting Hinsdale Falcon Football.    He also was a faithful member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, Wednesday morning Bible study and Tuesday coffee at Quinn’s. His faith, generosity and charismatic smile will always be remembered.
   He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack.
   He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beth nee Froehlich; his children, Karen, Amy (Kevin) Rodenbeck, Daniel and Beth (Andy) Foster; his grandchildren, Kevin, Grace and Ben Rodenbeck and Clara and Kate Foster; his siblings, Tom (Kay), Joe (Queenie), Jim (Ellen) and Mary Kay (Butch) Iglinski; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is at 9 a.m. today, June 21, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale. A celebration of life will follow at the church at 10 a.m.
