OBITUARIES:  (published Aug. 10, 2017)

Ronald O. Jung
Ronald “Ronnie” O. Jung, 86, died Aug. 2, 2017, at Amita Medical Center Hinsdale.
Ronald was born in 1931 in Hinsdale to Alfred William and Agnes, nee Kischer, Jung and continued to be a longtime resident of the Clarendon Hills and Hinsdale area. He graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1949. He worked for numerous area residents as a carpenter with Kenneth Kopka Construction and was a proud member of Carpenters Local 1889.
   A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he also was an area historian and member of the Clarendon Hills Historical Society.
   He was preceded in death by his brother, James (Victoria) Jung.
   He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Lou Jung, nee Ramsey; his brother, Thomas (Judith) Jung; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   A funeral service was held Aug. 4 at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Oak Brook.

Jenny Groot Kubitschek
Jenny Groot Kubitschek, a longtime resident of Hinsdale, died Aug. 5, 2017, of complications of Alzheimer’s disease at the hospice at Oak Trace in Downers Grove.
   Jenny, 93, was born in 1923 in Chicago. She was a devoted and active member of Union Church of Hinsdale for 47 years, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and did enormous amounts of volunteer work on charitable and social justice projects. After moving to Oak Trace in 2001, she expanded her volunteer efforts to include many charitable projects there, including the scholarship committee.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; Herbert; her sons, Craig and Warren; and her son-in-law, Bob Culp.
   She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Kubitschek (David Lansner) and Wendy Culp; her daughters-in-law, Missy Kubitschek and Catherine Kubitschek; her grandchildren, Jesse Lansner, Noah Lansner, Lydia Culp and Elizabeth Anne Culp; and four great-grandchildren. 
   A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at the Chapel at Oak Trace, 200 Village Drive, Downers Grove.

David Regnery Meyers
David Regnery Meyers died July 31, 2017, at the University of Utah Hospital after injuries sustained from an automobile accident in Idaho. 
   David, 82, grew up in Hinsdale and attended Hinsdale High School.
   He graduated from Clemson College with a degree in textile engineering and earned a master’s degree from the Institute of Textile Technology.
   He began his career at the Joanna Cotton Mills Co. in Joanna, S.C. After many years in South Carolina, he returned to Hinsdale as executive vice president of sales and manufacturing at Joanna Western Mills Co. He worked there until his retirement in 1991, at which time he moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. David was involved with several groups in Sun Valley and was an active hiker and avid bridge competitor, where he attained the ranking of Grandmaster.
   He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Meyers.
   He is survived by his wife, Frances; his daughters, Mary and Christina; three grandchildren; his two sisters, Margery and Melissa; and his two brothers, Michael and Frederick. 
   The funeral will be held in Sun Valley.
