    When a powerful "derecho" with winds exceeding 50 mph whipped through Hinsdale Monday afternoon, dozens of residents on the north side of town took to the streets immediately to clear fallen limbs.   • Pool has new hours starting Monday

    The Hinsdale Community Pool will operate under post-season hours Monday, Aug. 17, through the end of the season on Labor Day, Sept. 7. Lap swim hours are 5:15 to 7:05 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. The diving well and baby pool will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Weekend hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. for lap lanes, the diving well and the baby pool.
