MCCLEAR FINDS WINNING STROKE Hinsdale’s Mac McClear won the Illinois State Amateur in July, carding a 5-under-par score of 283 over four rounds at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette. McClear, a University of Iowa senior and two-time All-Big Ten honoree, avenged his loss in last year’s tournament in a three-way playoff.
