    Dr. George Farah, loving father of three, passed away Sept. 17, 2020, in La Jolla, Calif., at the age of 88. Papa George touched many with his joyful personality and positive outlook on life.     Diana K. Somrek, 72, passed away at her home with her family at her side Sept. 14, 2020. Diana taught in Gower Elementary District 62 for 32 years. She was the fond third-grade teacher of more than 900 students, many of whom still kept in touch with her. She was well respected not only by her students and their parents but also enjoyed a warm relationship with her colleagues and many friends.   • Labor Day enforcement nets arrests, citations

    The Hinsdale Police Department made one arrest for impaired driving during the recent Labor Day enforcement campaign to increase safety on Illinois roads.   • Rise in COVID-19 cases slowing in Hinsdale

    The number of Hinsdale residents who have been diagnosed with a confirmed case of COVID-19 hit 380 on Sept. 22, compared to 368 a week ago. The DuPage County Health Department reported 340 confirmed cases in Hinsdale and the Cook County Health Department reported 40 confirmed cases in the village. A total of 168 confirmed cases and 34 deaths are associated with ManorCare in Hinsdale, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. Those numbers include residents and staff who might not be DuPage County residents....
