Joe Chiodo, a former U.S. Secret Service Officer, Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient, died of complications from cancer Nov. 29, 2019. He was 74. Chiodo, a native of Chicago, was born to immigrant parents in the Grand Avenue neighborhood.
