Hinsdale High School District 86 has $70 million ready to pay for upcoming construction projects at Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South high schools following a July 15 bond issue. The bonds were sold to J.P. Morgan Securities LLC at an interest rate of 2.964, Jennifer Currier of PMA Securities told the board at its July 25 meeting. Hinsdale's Sarah Thornton was surprised to capture victory at her first golf tournament of the Illinois Junior Golf Association season back in mid-April. The cold and windy conditions were not ideal, but her score of 85 was the best among the eight girls ages 14-15 competing at Old Oak Country Club in Homer Glen. Donald “Don” Owen Novaria, 95, of Hinsdale, passed away July 8, 2019, at the Brookdale Senior Living Center. Don was born in 1923, in Huron, S.D., the second son of S.A. “Stan” and Ann Louise (Blank) Novaria. His father worked for the Western Union Telegraph Company, and they lived in various cities in the Midwest and Plains states, including South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska and, finally, North Dakota.
