Hinsdale’s 150th anniversary is coming up and a group of village staffers and community members have some big ideas on how to celebrate it. The village was incorporated on April 1, 1873, and members of the 150th Anniversary Committee hope to commemorate the event in a variety of ways. Students at The Lane school, along with their parents, gathered Friday morning to celebrate Veterans Day. The village’s annual fall leaf pick-up program continues through Dec. 5. The program is designed to keep village streets cleaner and safer and to help keep leaves out of sewers and storm drains. The Garfield Avenue railroad crossing will be completely closed from 9 a.m. today, Nov. 10, through 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20.
