The Hinsdale Central Hall of Fame will induct four new members tonight, Sept. 22, at its dinner at Ruth Lake Country Club. Who let the dogs in? - Hinsdale's Park and Rec department held its annual Dog Days of Summer last weekend at the Hinsdale Community Pool. With smaller dogs taking the first shift and larger dogs on the second shift, the pools saw plenty of activity for the last official event of the season. Hinsdale Central senior Adriana Olaguez experienced some culture shock after transferring from East Leyden midway through high school. "(East Leyden) is more than 50 percent Latinos," said Olaguez, who is of Mexican heritage. "The transition to Central, I felt, was a big difference." The DuPage County Health Department reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 in Hinsdale over the past week, bringing the total number of cases in the DuPage County portion of Hinsdale to 4,179, compared to 4,160 last week. After sitting out the past two election cycles, the Hinsdale Caucus is hoping to gear up for future village, school and library board elections. Hinsdale police arrested three suspects in the Chicago shooting of a 12-year-old boy Tuesday night after a car chase through several suburbs. Up on a roof - Hinsdale's Brian Williams of Boy Scout Troop 52 led a team of volunteers this summer on an Eagle Scout project to do a clean up and fix up of Ehret Park.
