  • A great day to Stuff the Truck for Central students

    Members of Hinsdale Central's National Honor Society and Business Professionals of America sponsored a Stuff the Truck food drive earlier this month. Their mission was accomplished, as they filled one truck with food and personal items and partially filled a second with diapers.     Another image of an armed vehicle burglar in Hinsdale caught on surveillance camera has led to increased police patrols and a call for residents to do their part to deter criminal activity. Overnight burglaries were reported the morning of Nov. 17 to unlocked vehicles in the 800 block of South Thurlow Street and the 300 block of East Sixth Street, according to Hinsdale police.     Forty-eight Hinsdale residents have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past week. The DuPage County Health Department reported 45 new cases, and the Cook County Health Department reported three new cases. That brings the total number of reported cases in the village to 2,220, compared to 2,172 last week.   • Faulty chimney cap fills home with smoke

    Hinsdale firefighters responded to a 9-1-1 call of a house fire on the 300 block of East Walnut Street Friday afternoon. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire in the fireplace and smoke filling the house. The fire did not spread beyond the fireplace.
