    The Hinsdale Fire Department lost a firefighter/paramedic candidate Tuesday when 25-year-old Nicole Hladik took her own life.     Metra announced last week that it will close the West Hinsdale Station for about two months beginning Aug. 1 to accommodate the replacement of the station’s boarding platforms. Trains will not stop at the station for the duration of the work.     A total of 223 Hinsdale residents have confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of July 16, compared to 207 a week ago. The DuPage County Health Department reported 202 confirmed cases in Hinsdale and the Cook County Health Department reported 21 confirmed cases in the village.     The Hinsdale High School District 86 Board is inviting applications to fill a vacant board seat. Nancy Pollak announced June 29 that she was stepping down from her position on the board because she was moving out of state.
