  • Central swimmers finish strong

    Ken Knutson|Updated Nov 20, 2024

Hinsdale Central's girls swimmers and divers began the season as nomads with the Don Watson Aquatic Center under repair. "We were displaced from our home pool, traveling all these different places," said head coach Bob Barber. Homelessness did not exempt the Red Devils from going up against the state's top programs like Rosary, New Trier and St. Charles North. "They clearly were the stronger teams but we were convinced that we were kind of the best of the rest," he said. The...

"It was not just a difficult start to the year, it was handling the...

Falcons 9U Gold Falls Just Short The Hinsdale Falcons 9U Gold team finished up an amazing season with an overtime 14-6 loss in the Bill George Youth Football League semifinals to the Bartlett Raiders. In what would prove to be an epic defensive battle, the two teams traded possessions throughout much of the first half. The Falcons eventually landed the first blow late in the second quarter when Connor Pauley connected on a slant pass to Bryce Lee, whose nifty moves evaded several defenders on his 64-yard route to the...
