Dennis W. Harast, 81, of Willowbrook passed away peacefully Aug. 27, 2019, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and his favorite hobbies, which included street rods, model airplanes and World War II history. He was a proud member of Checkerboard RC Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, nee Butkovich; his children, Beth (David Chiletz) Hannes and Lisa (Robert) Ashe; his grandchildren, Anthony Hannes and Lilah Ashe; his sister, Patricia Josephus; and his nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien.
Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, for prayers at the funeral home before proceeded to St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St., for a 10 a.m. Mass.
Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
