Dorothy “Dottie” Briscoe, nee Pirc, 88, a former Hinsdale resident, died Aug. 30. 2019.
She was born in 1930 to Frank and Helen Pirc and was a graduate of Providence Catholic High School and Joliet Junior College.
Dottie worked as a medical technician at the old St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet. After she moved to Downers Grove and her sons graduated from college, she began a nearly 25-year career as an agent/broker in real estate sales. She enjoyed helping families with the big decisions of purchasing or selling a home. Her real joy was when she became a nana/grandmother.
The family wants to recognize the love and care given to Dottie by the staff at Meadowbrook ManorCare Bolingbrook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Briscoe; and her siblings, Donald (the late Bernadine), Francis (Maureen) and Carol (the late Robert).
She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Cathy) Briscoe and David (Lisa) Briscoe; her grandchildren, Kyle (Erin), Matthew (Joyce), Brendan (Fran), Kelly (Kristin) and Julia; and her great-grandchildren, Cora and Leo.
Friends and family will meet at 9:30 today, Sept. 5, at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., Downers Grove, before proceeding to St. Joseph Church, 4801 Main St., Downers Grove, for a 10 a.m. Mass.
Interment is private at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
