Martha Ann Conroy, 82, of Hinsdale passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Oct. 7, 2019.
Marty was born in Cincinnati in 1936 to Dr. Leonard and Ruth Wuest. She was educated at the Convent of Sacred Heart and Mt. St. Joseph College. She moved to Dayton where she raised her family and kept in close touch with cherished family and friends in Cincinnati. In 1994, after 36 years of marriage, her husband and best friend, Bill, died unexpectedly. A few years later, Marty moved to the Chicago suburbs to be closer to family.
She was an active parishioner at Incarnation in Centerville, Ohio, and then at St. Isaac Jogues in Hinsdale.
She will be remembered for making the most out of every day and especially every holiday, her incredible sense of humor and the love and kindness she showed to all she encountered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and her sister, Carole Lautenbach.
She is survived by her sister, Juanita Wenke; her six children, Eileen (Dr. Ron) O'Quin, Bill (Laurie) Conroy of Hinsdale, Molly (Gary) Lees, Sue (Tom) Owens of Hinsdale, Ann Conroy and Tom (Lainey) Conroy; her 17 grandchildren, Adam, Laura, Jack, Jenny, Molly, Erin, Brenna, John, Tom L., Tom O., Matt, Kevin, Reilly, Bridie, Joe, Ellee and Georgia; and her great-grandson, Ben.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 (her birthday), at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale. A celebration of life service will follow at 10 a.m. at the church.
Sullivan Funeral Home in Hinsdale handled the arrangements.
