Thomas C. Beckman, 63, known to friends as "Toots," passed away Nov. 2, 2019. He was a former resident of Clarendon Hills.
After graduating with a psychology degree from Northeastern University, Tom decided to pursue his passion in entertainment and enrolled in a clown college with Ringling Brothers. He enjoyed many years traveling with an acting troupe.
Eventually, he found his way to real estate and had been a longtime agent with Jameson Sotheby's International Realty in Chicago.
Those who know Tom describe him as a true gentleman, an avid reader, a fan of Chicago history and music and able to strike up a conversation on any topic. He had the best smile in the room and always made time to help others.
Tom is survived by his mother Rose Marie Beckman, nee Federighi; his daughter, Marie Tyndall; his grandson, Jackson Tyndall; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Beckman.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. Grant St., Hinsdale.
Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at the funeral home before proceeding to Notre Dame Church, 64 Norfolk Ave. Clarendon Hills, for a 10 a.m. Mass.
Interment will be private.
