Those who planned to vote Tuesday, March 17, at The Community House in Hinsdale will be unable to do so.
The location is one of 17 locations in DuPage County that have closed. Most are nursing homes or senior living facilities.
Residents can participate in early voting until 8 p.m. today, March 16, at the DuPage County Clerk’s Election Division office, 421 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.
Or they can vote Tuesday at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
DuPage County Board Member Greg Hart has arranged for two charter buses to drive people to the DuPage County Fairgrounds on Election Day.
The first will depart at 8 a.m. from The Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., arriving in Wheaton at about 8:45 a.m. and returning to Hinsdale at approximately 10 a.m., depending on voter wait time.
The second bus is scheduled to depart at noon, arrive in Wheaton at 2:45 p.m. and return to Hinsdale at 4 p.m.
The buses will have enough space for the passengers to maintain social distancing guidelines and water and hand sanitizers will be available. They will also be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each ride.
