Carol Hall Gosselin

Carol Hall Gosselin, nee Jessup, formerly of Hinsdale, died peacefully March 3, 2020, surrounded by family.

She led a vigorous life and never forgot her roots. Carol was raised in West Lafayette, Ind. and graduated from Purdue University as a proud Kappa Alpha Theta. After graduation she was beckoned by Chicago, where she worked for Scott Forsman and met her future husband, Dick Hall. They lived in Oak Park and Western Springs and had two kids, Bob and Elizabeth. Dick received a promotion and the Hall family moved to Wayland, Mass. After two wonderful years of new friends, Dick succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

The Halls moved to Hinsdale in 1970. Carol was a strong part of the community and was active with the Girl Scouts, Union Church and the Wellness Center. The Halls’ house was the epicenter of activity and she influenced many of Hinsdale’s finest kids.

Carol married Jack Gosselin, a widower, in 1975, and they both were dedicated to and took great joy in their combined family of six. They enjoyed a 27-year marriage with lots of friends, travel and family. Jack was a giant in his hometown of Joliet, where he left a tremendous work and charitable legacy. Carol lived out her life with family. She had 14 grandchildren, friends and her beloved aide, Toni.

Family will greet friends at 10 a.m. Friday, April 3, at the Union Church of Hinsdale, 137 S. Garfield St. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wellness House, 131 N. County Line Road, Hinsdale, IL 60521 or online at https://www.wellnesshouse.org/ways-to-give.
