INFERNO TEAM WINS THIRD PLACE

The Hinsdale Inferno red sixth-grade girls basketball team finished third in the seventh-grade Silver DuPage Youth Basketball Travel Basketball League.

STUDENTS NAMED ALL-ACADEMIC

Hinsdale’s Erin Otto and Van Nia Pham were among 85 student-athletes from Carthage College who were named to the Fall All-Academic All-Conference list by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

They achieved an overall grade point average of 3.30 or above, lettered in their respective sport and have served at least one year in residency at their respective school.

INFERNO TEAM NETS LEAGUE TITLE

The Hinsdale girls eighth-grade Inferno team won the DuPage Youth Travel Basketball League with a 27-24 win over the Raiders.

Chloe Vande Lune was the leading scorer with 12 points.

In the semi-finals, the team beat Batavia 45-32, with Shannon Early scoring 15 points.

The team ended the season with a 20-2 record (14-1 in league play). Many of the girls have played together since third grade.

“Every young lady played a crucial role in earning this title, and the coaching staff and I could not be prouder of their collective accomplishments,” head coach Todd Vande Lune said.

Team members are Chloe Anderson, Naomi Cook, Shannon Early, Caroline Henige, Madeline Jensen, Ryann Knapp, Annie Mayer, Audrey Moster, Emma Quast, Siena Steines, Chloe Vande Lune and Sam Wheeler.

Assistant coaches are Patrick Jensen and Bill Wheeler
