James A. Schneider, 92, a former 20-year resident of Hinsdale, died June 21, 2020, at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
He was a seven-year resident of Downers Grove and a former 18-year resident of Clarendon Hills.
Jim was an electrical engineer for Commonwealth Edison and retired after 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Gladys J. Schneider, nee Hilburger; and his parents, William J. and Agnes Emma Christina Schneider, nee Nelson.
He is survived by his children, James C. (Dr. Deborah) Schneider and Jan Sowinski (Jon Silk); his grandchildren, Jennifer Sowinski, James (Liane) Sowinski, Carrie (Tony) Wilkinson and Matthew (Kelly) Schneider; his great-grandchildren, Elise, Nathan, Allysn, Luke, Kelsey, Trey, Kaedyn, James and Levi.
A family graveside service was held June 29 at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery in Oak Lawn.
