Janet E. Hoyer, 96, of Belleair Bluffs, Fla., passed away peacefully March 3, 2020.
Janet was born in Hinsdale in 1924 and moved to Florida in 1982. She was a retired payroll officer for a manufacturing company.
Always wanting to help others, Janet volunteered at All Children's Hospital and numerous church groups at Grace Lutheran Church, St. Petersburg. She was currently a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Largo.
An avid reader, card player and Rays baseball fan, Janet loved activities with family and friends. She was preceded in death by Frederick Hoyer, her husband of 21 years; and by her first husband of 33 years, Edward Schmidt.
She is survived by her three children, Gary Schmidt, Carol Schmidt (George Joch) and Robert Schmidt (Candita Mazzocchi); her grandson, Daniel Schmidt (Emily Molinaro); her great-grandchildren, Juniper Schmidt and Basil Schmidt; and her grandson Christopher Schmidt (Makayla Hall).
A private family service and burial will be held at Fullersburg Cemetery in Hinsdale.
