Donna Rask Born, 94, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away peacefully Sept. 30, 2020, at King-Bruwaert House in Burr Ridge, just six days before her 95th birthday.
Donna life was full of family, service to community, close friends, music, reading, hiking, tennis and travel to whet her unbounded curiosity of people and places. Donna was a member of Delta Gamma, and spent many hours to support the blind and visually impaired. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1947, where she met and soon married Bob. They started their life and family in Chicago, but moved to Omaha, Neb., Columbus, Ohio, and Nashville, Tenn., before returning to the western suburbs of Chicago to retire. She was a proud granddaughter of immigrants from Iceland, where she traveled with her mother in 1965. She took great delight in the lives and passions of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert Born.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Sue), Patrick (Wendy) and David (Joan); her brother, D. Peter Rask; her six grandchildren, Kristin, Megan, Andy, Eric, Heather and Katie; and her six great-grandchildren, Caroline, Everett, James, Ollie, Emmerick and LuLu.
