James Robert Kolzow, 78, of Clarendon Hills passed away Nov. 10, 2020.
Jim was born in 1942 to John and Margaret Kolzow. He was raised in Hinsdale and was a graduate of Hinsdale Central High School. He graduated from Colorado State College in Greeley with a bachelor's degree in education. He began his career teaching biology and coaching football and wrestling in Scottsbluff, Neb. Jim returned to Illinois to teach biology and AP biology at Hinsdale Central High School. He was a well-loved coach of football, baseball and girls softball from 1969-2000.
Jim was known for his kind and gentle ways. His leadership and dedication inspired students and athletes alike.

Jim is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Kristen and Michelle; his grandchildren, Kenton and Kailyn; and his brothers, William, Richard, and Ron (Maureen). Services were private.
