Hinsdale police have released the results of the Thanksgiving enforcement initiative from Nov. 20-30.
Police made three impaired driving arrests during the effort. They also made one felony arrest, in which a motorist was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding, unlawful use of a weapon by a convicted felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and driving under the influence of alcohol. A loaded semi-automatic firearm was recovered from a motorist’s vehicle.
Police issued four citations to drivers with a suspended or revoked license or no license, 19 speeding citations and cited four motorists for other violations.
The effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
