With the Hinsdale Com-munity Pool parking lot filling up with mountains of snow from the central business district, these Madison School girls from Bodin Street saw a unique sledding opportunity. More snow is predicted in the coming days, ensuring the mounds will grow as the village continues to relocate snow from downtown sidewalks and streets. George Peluso, Hinsdale's director of public services and engineering, said his department has been able to stay on top of the weather elements with "all hands on deck." And he reported that the village has ample treated salt on hand to de-ice streets. "We're just about to hit our minimums on one of our (salt) contracts. We're definitely not in any kind of salt shortage," Peluso said. (Jim Slonoff photo)
