I hope you will join me in supporting Margie Kleber in her candidacy for the District 181 Board. As the current president of the board, Margie is in the unique position of providing to the new board not only solid leadership but also experience and continuity of leadership, something her opponent lacks. This has been a challenging year for our children and our schools, and Margie has provided the leadership that we needed to get children back in the classroom safely.
I have known Margie for many years and worked closely with her as a member of the D181 Facilities Committee, which she chaired. She is a committed and conscientious leader, and her role on that committee insured the on time and under budget construction of the new Hinsdale Middle School. She also led the negotiations with the village on the parking deck, resulting in a fair inter-governmental agreement and an aesthetically pleasing and safe parking structure. Margie is a fair and collaborative leader who I believe listens to everyone and bases her decisions on that input, together with her good judgment and years of experience as a parent and board member.
