Hinsdale police distributed the following reports March 2. This week’s reports were not available by press time Wednesday afternoon.
Scam purchase leads to arrest
Donald Rowell, 54, 3661 School Drive, Country Club Hills, was arrested on two felony forgery counts on Feb. 25 for an incident that occurred at 6 p.m. Jan. 22, 2020, at Hinsdale Advanced Eye Care, 133 E. Ogden Ave. The suspect purchased a pair of glasses for $376.48 using a bad check; a second suspect came to the store on Jan. 25 and attempted to purchase three pairs of glasses using a check. The employee declined the transaction and it was later determined the drivers license the suspect presented was fraudulent. An arrest warrant was obtained on May 27 and he was taken into custody Feb. 25. He was charged and taken to DuPage County Jail. An arrest warrant also has been obtained for the second suspect, who remains at large.
Trespass to garage reported
A known suspect entered a detached garage without permission in the 5600 block of South Elm Street between 5 p.m. Feb. 25 and 6 p.m. Feb. 28.
Assault at restaurant
A person made contact of an unwanted and harassing nature with a co-worker between 4 and 5 p.m. Feb. 6 at Nabuki, 18 E. First St. The incident was reported Feb. 26.
Telephone threats made
A resident of the 200 block of South Thurlow Street received text messages of a threatening nature from a known suspect on Feb. 28.
Packages stolen from porch
Packages containing clothing valued at $35.87 were stolen from a porch in the 10 block of North County Line Road between 3:44 and 5 p.m. Feb. 28.
