I am writing in support of Debbie Levinthal for the D86 Board of Education. I’ve lived in Oak Brook for 14 years and am the mother of two eighth-graders who will attend Hinsdale Central next year. Plus, my husband grew up here and attended Monroe, Hinsdale Junior High and Hinsdale Central. This area and its schools are extremely important to us.
I met Debbie when our teenagers were in preschool. From the first time I met her, I was struck by her zealous, thoughtful advocacy. Debbie always has had her children’s best interests at heart and works tirelessly to ensure that they receive the very best.
Throughout the years, I’ve relied on Debbie’s advice on issues relating to my children and their education. That she is an accomplished educator and also a great parent gives her a credibility and perspective that I appreciate. Debbie has given me thoughtful advice from everything from how to handle remote learning to choosing freshman classes.
Our community would benefit greatly from Debbie’s service on the D86 Board. Right now, her children are the direct beneficiaries of her advocacy and zeal, as are those of us who are fortunate enough to call Debbie a friend. Once Debbie is serving on the D86 Board, all of our children will benefit from her experience, thoughtfulness and compassion. Her service will make this an even better place to live.
