Community Consolidated District 181 Board:
Among other business at their meeting Monday, board members:
• listened to an update on spring MAP scores. Despite the many changes that occurred during the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students in first, second, third and fifth grade showed more than expected growth in reading since the fall MAP test was given. Students in first through fourth grade showed more than expected growth in math.
“I know you’re going to be working hard to have our students fill those gaps next year,” board member Sheetal Rao said.
• approved adding the equivalent of 4.5 full time staff members for the 2021-22 school year. The additional costs are within the staffing contingency built into the budget.
