Kids took to the streets of Safety Village again this summer following last year's hiatus because of COVID-19. The program is sponsored by the Katie Satkamp Memorial Foundation in memory of 7-year-old Katie, who lost her life following a fatal school bus accident. This year 188 campers attended the two-week camp, which is in its 39th year. Kids learn lessons about personal safety and the rules of the road and have the chance to drive miniature cars around a pint-sized village. The camp's goal is to teach real-life situations kids will remember if they are faced with an emergency in the future. (Jim Slonoff photos)
