Steven S. Eich of Hinsdale, formerly of Glenview, passed away Sept. 6, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was a graduate of Glenbrook South High School and DePauw University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Steve had a passion for history, teaching social studies at Fairview South School in Skokie and at his alma mater Glenbrook South. In addition, Steve coached baseball and basketball and was a role model and mentor to many. An avid Cub fan, he was a season ticket holder and felt blessed to witness a World Series win.
Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy Harper; his children, Bobby, Emily and Johnny Eich; his sister, Judy (Mark) Standefer; his nephews, Andy and Matt Eich and Andrew Smiskol; and his nieces, Missy Eich, Cindy Smiskol and Kati and Christine Standefer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Doris, nee Burkland, Eich; and his brother, Ronald.
Memorials may be made to the Robert, Emily, and John Eich Children College Fund in care of Harris Bank Hinsdale, 50 S. Lincoln St., Hinsdale, IL 60521, Attention: Thomas Bettencourt.
Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
