The friendly confines - Sandy Williams' book, "Images of America - Hinsdale," mentions how popular baseball was in the village. "The town baseball team about 1923 is shown 'at the end.' There were American Legion teams and church teams as well. Union Church fielded a team, as did the Lutherans. During the summer months, men's teams practiced every night of the week for weekend games that had a few hundred Hinsdaleans turn our to watch."
