Train crossings in downtown Hinsdale were closed for about 90 minutes Wednesday afternoon as police investigated a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a freight train near the Highland station.
The preliminary investigation points to suicide, according to Hinsdale police.
A Metra alert indicated inbound and outbound trains on the BNSF line might be operating with extensive delays.
