Leslie P. Konicki, 87, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away peacefully Sept. 26, 2021 in Yorkville.
He was born in 1934 in Chicago, the son of Peter and Regina Konicki, née Egan. He attended Hinsdale Central High School, where he was a star player in baseball, football and basketball.
He and his wife, Jeannie, enjoyed traveling, raising horses, birdwatching and watching football, whether in San Diego, Florida or the Chicago area. Leslie especially loved dogs, and as a young man, he hunted with them.

Leslie loved to golf and, while living in Ocala, Florida, had a hole-in-one on a challenging par-3 course. He was a longtime member of Wheatland Salem United Methodist Church.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jeannie Konicki, née Watson: his children from his first marriage, Mark Vincent Konicki, M.D., Gregory Paul Konicki and Clifford Edward Konicki; his grandchildren, Courtney Lynn, Peter Alexander, Kellen Charles Konicki and Brianna Marie Shaner; his great-grandchildren, Charlie and Juliet Shaner; his brother, William; and his sister, Kathleen Konicki.
