Rebecca Caceres Guerra, 63, of Hinsdale died Nov. 15, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was known as Becca and Bebot. She was born in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Philippines, and she attended all Catholic schools and graduated from Centro Escolar University with a degree in communications. She was president of the student council and a very popular and active person on campus. After graduating, for a time she worked as a reporter for a local TV news station. She moved to the US in 2002 and lived in San Francisco for a while, helping to raise others' children. Later she moved to Pembroke Pines, Fla., to be with her mother, Felisa, who is still living. She also helped raise young children there and worked all facets of the Publix grocery store, where she had many friends and wonderful experiences.
In 2011 she met her future husband, Don Guerra, and moved to Hinsdale. She loved the community and its activities and her neighborhood. She loved going to the US Open in New York every year and roaming the city. Becca had a strong faith and humility and was always a supporter of those in need at home and back in the Philippines. She was also very devoted to the La Pieta International Prayer Group. Her kindness, generosity, strength and bright spirit will always be remembered. She courageously battled cancer since 2014 with toughness and resilience.
She is survived by her husband, Don Guerra; her children, Marc Caceres, Ken Caceres and Mico Caceres; her siblings, Nelson Carpo, David Ridley, James Ridley and Richard Ridley; many cousins in the US and the Philippines; and her mother, Felisa Ridley.
