Hinsdale police released the following reports Nov. 30.
DUI arrest
Mohammed M. Ghouse, 47, 632 Justina St., Hinsdale, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash at 8:34 p.m. Nov. 23 in the 700 block of South Garfield Avenue. He was charged and released to appear in court.
Warrant arrests
• Jorge Luis Chavez, 42, 819 N. 12th Ave., Melrose Park, was apprehended by Hinsdale police when they were dispatched to a property damage crash at 6:25 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 400 block of West Ogden Avenue. He was taken into custody by Rosemont police, who had an active arrest warrant on him.
• Arnold E. Zavala, 31, 532 E. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, was apprehended by Hinsdale police on an active arrest warrant from the Will County Sheriff’s Office at 11:36 p.m. Nov. 28 at Interstate 294 and Ogden Avenue. He was a passenger in a car driven by Priscilla S. Johnson, 31, 1409 Carriage Lane, Bolingbrook, who was arrested for driving with a suspended license and transporting open alcohol. She was charged and released to appear in court. Zavala was taken to DuPage County Jail for warrant service.
Christmas trees stolen
Six Christmas trees valued at about $200 each were stolen from the tree lot at Fuller’s Hardware, 35 E. First St., between midnight Nov. 20 and 9 a.m. Nov. 22.
Driver leaves scene of crash
Police were dispatched to a rollover accident involving four vehicles at 8:04 a.m. Nov. 23 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue and were told by witnesses that the offending driver fled the scene, leaving behind the vehicle’s front bumper and license plate. Police contacted the vehicle owner, who had reported her vehicle was stolen to Lyons police.
Driver flees from police
Police attempted to stop a known suspect for a speeding violation at 12:52 a.m. Nov. 22 at Route 83 and 55th Street. The suspect increased speed and fled. Charges are pending.
Burglar breaks into home
Someone broke through the front door of a home in the 500 block of York Road between 10 a.m. Nov. 18 and 3:16 p.m. Nov. 24 and rummaged through the inside. The victim was not home during the time of the burglary, and nothing of value was observed missing.
