Diane Catherine Steinbarth Grigas

Diane Catherine Steinbarth Grigas, 63, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 14, 2021, at home in Batavia with her husband, Breck, by her side.

Diane was blessed with adoring parents and three amazing siblings who instilled in her the values of love, compassion and generosity.

To know Diane was to love her, and Breck was blessed to share in that love every day. She and Breck started dating in high school and their love grew stronger each day of their 41-year marriage. The biggest blessings of their relationship were found in Matt and Sarah.

Diane was the epitome of a selfless mother and devoted grandmother, always willing to lend a hand and eager to spend time with her grandchildren.

Diane had a love of traveling, talking on the phone, and taking care of her furry and feathered friends. She enjoyed many hobbies, including baking, cooking, and crocheting - all talents she selflessly shared with others. There was nothing Diane loved more than her family, and anyone who was lucky enough to know her would tell you the same. Her smile was contagious, her laugh was infectious and her generosity to her family and friends was unparalleled.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Breck Grigas; her children, Matt Grigas (fiancé Claire Condon) and Sarah (Cody) Proctor; her grandchildren, Henry Grigas and Ava Proctor; her siblings, Loral (Mark) Valley, Rich (Sharon) Steinbarth and David (Amy) Steinbarth; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lois Steinbarth.

Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S Grant St, Hinsdale.

Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, for a Mass of the resurrection at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 306 W. Fourth St., Hinsdale.

Burial will be private.
