I was born in Canada and have played hockey most of my life. Hockey has given me the opportunity to live in many great places across Canada and the United States. When I retired from the NHL, my family and I chose to return to Hinsdale, having lived in this great little town while playing for the Blackhawks and believing it was the best choice for us.
My wife and I have five children ranging in age from sixth grade to a junior in college. We felt strongly that the D86 referendum should be passed for the sake of all the children in the D86 community. We volunteered our time hoping to make that happen. Kari Galassi was the leader of the effort and was a dynamo. She inspired hundreds of volunteers, including students, to raise community awareness through canvassing, running community tables and phone banks, and writing letters.
In the years since the hard-fought referendum was passed, DuPage County residents have watched as crime brazenly springs up on our streets. We cannot allow the safety of our communities to be imperiled. Kari Galassi, and her running mate, Greg Hart, are strong supporters of Bob Berlin and Sheriff Mendrick and their tough-on-crime policies and would be allies of such policies on the DuPage County Board.
Electing Kari Galassi and Greg Hart on June 28 will help maintain our excellent schools and law and order in DuPage County. — Adrian Aucoin, Hinsdale
