Robert "Bob" Sheldon, 77, of Hinsdale and Naples, Fla., passed away June 7, 2022, in Hinsdale.
Bob was born in 1945. He spent most of his formative years in Lima, Ohio, and most of his adult life in Columbus, Ohio.
A true entrepreneur at heart, he made the decision to start his own personal hair care business. After leading the company through an exciting growth period for more than 25 years, he successfully negotiated the sale of the business. Driven by a desire help others succeed, one of his proudest accomplishments is the extensive professional and leadership development initiatives put in place to bring out the best in people.
Bob's passion for giving back to the community has been a common thread throughout his adult life. After the sale of his company, he made several mission trips to Honduras and was instrumental in building a hospital and eye clinic in an underserved community with limited access to qualified medical care. In addition to this work, he also served as a Court Appointed Special Advisor to support abused and at-risk youth.
Bob lived a full and wonderful life. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lucy Sheldon, nee Wallpe; his two daughters, Jennifer (Tim) St. Onge and Kerri (Robert "Bob") Gollias; his grandchildren, Lacey (Brandon) Griffin, Holly Jo, Meadow, Hunter and Gianna Gollias and Maddie and Zach St. Onge; his great-grandchild, Beau Griffin; his brother, Bill (Patti) Sheldon; and many in-laws.
A funeral Mass was said June 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Morris, Ind. Inurnment was at St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery.
