A Hinsdale man has been charged with multiple offenses following his arrest last week, according to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Svoboda, 28, 946 S. Bodin St., was arrested after sheriff’s deputies executed an arrest warrant for him the evening of Aug. 9. In the driveway, officers observed a 14-foot box trailer carrying a blue 2007 Harley Davidson Fat Boy that had been reported stolen out of Lake County. Svoboda, who had multiple warrants for his arrest, was found hiding in the home’s crawlspace.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office reported that Svoboda was charged with receiving, possessing or selling a stolen motor vehicle or essential part; felony theft of the box trailer; unauthorized possession of title, registration, license plates; possession, sale or use of fireworks for possessing a white stick fireworks explosive; possession of firearm or ammunition by a narcotic addict without a FOID card; unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia for possessing two pipes used for inhaling crystal methamphetamine and resisting or obstructing a peace officer for hiding in the crawlspace.
DuPage County Circuit Court Judge Ann Celine O’Hallaren Walsh set Svoboda’s bond at $250,000 on Aug. 10. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24.
