Hinsdale police distributed the following reports Oct. 14.
Catalytic converter stolen
A catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked in the lot at Kensington School, 540 W. Ogden Ave., at 2:07 p.m. Sept. 30. A white male suspect with long black hair wearing all black clothing was observed on surveillance video. He left the scene in a block Pontiac sedan. No damage estimate was reported.
Deceptive practice
A resident of the 700 block of Wilson Lane reported being scammed out of money over social media between Sept. 20 and 22. The incident was reported Sept. 29.
Burglary to vehicles
• Someone entered a vehicle while it was parked in a driveway in the 500 block of North Washington Street between 10 p.m. Sept. 28 and 4:50 a.m. Sept. 29 and rummaged through the interior. Nothing was reported missing.
• Someone entered a vehicle while it was parked in the driveway in the 600 block of North Washington Street between 5 p.m. Sept. 28 and 8 a.m. Sept. 29 and rummaged through the interior. Nothing was taken.
Identify theft
Someone forged a check using the identity of a resident of the 100 block of East Maple Street between Sept. 15 and 23. The victim did not report a dollar loss when contacting police Sept. 27.
School property damaged
Someone damaged a shed at Oak School, 950 S. Oak St., at 6 p.m. Oct. 1. No damage estimate was available.
