Sara Ann Davis, 90, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Nov. 10, 2022. She was a former 50-year resident of Hinsdale.
Born in Chicago to Winifred Merritt Ivie and Howard G Ivie, she attended the University of Chicago Lab School and went on to study at the University of Chicago where she graduated early. She then continued her education at Illinois Wesleyan University on an art scholarship. There she served as treasurer of her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and was an active alumnus. It was during her time in Bloomington that she met Robert Davis. She and Bob were married in 1956.
During her five decades in Hinsdale, she was an active member of Hinsdale Golf Club, Investment Club, Village Associates and Christ Church of Oak Brook up until 2015 when she moved to Texas to be closer to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob.
She is survived by her three children, John (Susan Cipione), Jim (Melanie) and Susan (Christopher) Thompson; her grandchildren, Courtney and Conner Davis, James Davis and Sara Davis (Jacob) Knight, Ashley Thompson (Drew) Mills and Katie Thompson (Blake) Gordon; and a great-grandchild.
Her memorial services is at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road.
