Those looking to make a difference for someone in need can choose from many BEDS Plus programs. The Adopt-A-Family Gift Giving Program matches a donor with clients who cannot afford to celebrate the holidays. The Holiday Gift Sets program asks donor to provide five or more gift bags filled with identical items for adult clients. The third program is a set of client families identified to receive gifts through the Blackberry Market La Grange Giving Tree Program. See the website for more information.

The Hinsdale Humane Society Junior Board invites the whole family to enjoy pup time, a bake sale, cookie decorating, games, letters to Santa and filling stockings for cats. All guests are encouraged to bring wrapped, stocking-sized gifts for adoptable cats and dogs and wear a favorite ugly sweater. Time: 7 to 9 p.m. Cost: $15, $10 for kids under 12. RR
