Penny Choice, née Means, 83, a former longtime Hinsdale resident, died Nov. 28, 2022.
Mrs. Choice, who had a flair for the dramatic, was a mentor to countless educators and students.
As stated by one of her previous students, “Mrs. Choice had the ability to elevate even the most awkward child into feeling accepted, cherished and loved.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Rector Choice; and her son, B.C. Choice.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret “Marni” M. (Jerry Hermosillo) Choice-Hermosillo; her grandchildren, Braden and Taryn Hermosillo, Ian and Ezra Choice; her siblings, Dora (Carl) Dirrman and Jeff (the late Jan) Means; and her nieces and nephews, John, Michelle and Michael.
A celebration of life will take place in-person and via livestream at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, Union Church of Hinsdale, 137 S. Garfield Ave.
Interment is private.
