Hinsdale's star - This photo in Sandy Williams' book, "Images of America - Hinsdale," is of Loie Fuller. "Loie Fuller, Jacob's granddaughter, was born in January 1862 at Castle Inn (on Ogden Avenue) where her parents had gone to escape the harsh winter at their nearby farm. Introduced to the stage as a child, reciting poetry, performing became her passion. With only modest success in America, Loie found international fame as a dancer, appearing throughout Europe to rave reviews. Paris, where she was embraced by the artistic elite, became her home."
