Suzanne Mosser Shanks, 93, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away peacefully March 5, 2023 at her home in LaGrange Park, surrounded by family.
Suzanne was born to Harry J. Mosser Sr. and Suzanne Ferguson Mosser in 1929. She grew up in South Texas and attended The Hockaday School in Dallas. Suzanne later moved to New York where she attended The Hewitt School and Sarah Lawrence College. A true Texan at heart, Suzanne went on to raise her family in Houston and Corpus Christi, where she was an active member of the Junior League.
In 1994, she moved to the Chicagoland area to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter. Suzanne cherished visits from her son, who visited frequently. As a young woman, Suzanne enjoyed the theater and traveling. In her later years, Suzanne enjoyed baking, dining at her favorite restaurants, watching movies and spending time with loved ones.
Suzanne always will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Holly (John) Bell of Hinsdale; her granddaughter, Natalie (Domadious) Philobos; her brother, Harry J. (Connie) Mosser Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wallace Taylor Shanks Jr.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. Monday, March 13, at Adolf Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St., Willowbrook.
A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home.
